On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, Islam Jaber Suleiman Sheikh al-Eid, a 35-year-old pregnant woman was killed after an alleged Israeli airstrike that struck her tent west of Khan Younis.
Al-Wasat Media Platform shared on Facebook: “The martyrdom of Mrs Islam Sheikh al-Eid and her fetus in her womb (the martyred fetus Jannah) in a bombing that targeted her tent tonight, west of Khan Younis.”
While there is limited reporting on this incident, friends and family shared their messages of condolences online. Aaya Jaber on Facebook, who shared: “My dear sister Islam, the kind and compassionate one, by God, the martyrdom suits you…May God strengthen our hearts…and give patience to your children, your husband, our mother, and all of us after you…” The two had been close: Aaya remembered Islam as someone who “listened to [her] and […] joked with [her] and made [her] laugh.” Islam’s “heart understood [her].”

Islam’s name has been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, names are matched to the eighth ‘Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza’ list, which was released on March 24, 2025. Shireen Monitor stated that the deceased was a 35-year-old woman from the Deir al-Balah Governorate. Twitter/X user @Almeqdad specified that Islam was killed by an airstrike, a claim that was corroborated by @khaberni.
