The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the strike on their Telegram channel, stating at 17:03 that “Earlier today (Wednesday), with the direction of IDF and ISA intelligence, the IAF conducted a precise strike … inside a compound that previously served as the ‘Al Zahra’ School” which they alleged “was used by the terrorists to plan and execute terrorist attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel.” Airwars did not find any additional information about the presence of Hamas militants at the school among open sources.
At 1.16 pm Al Jazeera – Falastin made an “Urgent” post on Facebook reporting “3 martyrs and a number of wounded in an Israeli bombardment of Al Zahraa School, which shelters displaced people east of Gaza City.” Al Jazeera Mubasher reported “Blood and screams everywhere” due to “violent Israeli shelling on a shelter for displaced people in Al Zahraa School.” The death toll of three people was reported by multiple other sources.

Israeli Military Assessment:
Original strike reports
IDF: Earlier today (Wednesday), with the direction of IDF and ISA intelligence, the IAF conducted a precise strike on Hamas terrorists who were operating inside a command and control center in the area of Gaza City. The command and control center, which was embedded inside a compound that previously served as the 'Al-Zahra’ School, was used by the terrorists to plan and execute terrorist attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel.
Prior to the strike, numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians, including the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence information.
This is a further example of the Hamas terrorist organization’s systematic abuse of civilian infrastructure in violation of international law. The IDF will continue to operate against Hamas in defense of the citizens of Israel.
