Shortly before 7:58 AM on July 24, 2024, two civilians, including a child, were killed and a number of civilians were injured by alleged Israeli sniper fire near the Bani Suhaila roundabout in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip. According to the journalist Hani Al Shaer’s Facebook and Telegram accounts, one more civilian was also killed at the same place around 5:00 PM on the same day, bringing the reported death toll to three people. The names of the victims were not found online.
On the afternoon of July 24, the Palestinian Press Agency (Safa.ps) reported “two martyrs shot by Israeli [military] forces near Bani Suhaila roundabout east of Khan Yunis city in southern Gaza Strip;” in addition, according to Al Jazeera and @ShehabAgency “two people were injured by sniper fire.” A Facebook post by Mehazem Azou described “two martyrs, including a child, shot by [Israeli] snipers.”
The same day, @Sa7atPlBreaking reported a series of casualties at that location, including “a martyr by the [Israeli] snipers’ bullets near Bani Suhaila roundabout,” “two martyrs, including a child, by the [Israeli] snipers’ bullets at Bani Suhaila roundabout” and then “Wounded by the bullets of a drone that targeted citizens who tried to retrieve martyrs at Bani Suhaila junction.” Journalist Hani Al Shaer also posted that after a citizen was killed by Israeli snipers near Bani Suhaila roundabout, the number of casualties has risen to three since this morning in the same place. However, a few sources, including @Almasirahbrk, only mentioned one death.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the shootings to Israeli forces.
