Airwars assessment

A civilian died of his injuries and nine others, including four children, were wounded in alleged Libyan National Army shelling on Arada neighbourhood in Tripoli on April 18th, 2020, according to local sources.

Souq Al Khamis reported on April 18th that “several rockets hit civilian homes in Arada.” Burkan Al Ghadab Operation reported the “bombing of the Haftar terrorist militia on the homes of citizens in the Arada region, which resulted in the injury of 10 citizens, including four children, and severe damage to civilian homes and properties.”

The Field Medicine and Support Center reported that several shells injured several civilians around noon. The FMSC published the names of ten victims, among which the children Jana Abdel Moneim Al Bouaishi (7), Youssef Abdel Moneim Al Bouaishi (4), Mohamed Ismail Al Bouaishi (5) and Abdul Malik Muhammad Al Bouaishi (5).

According to the FMSC, Najeeb Jumaa Al Gharyani (40) was wounded while putting out fire after the strikes. Burkan Al Ghadab Operation later wrote on Facebook that Al Gharyani had died from his injuries, adding that he was working for a department of Maitika International Airport, and was injured while he was “fullfilling his professional duty.”

Burkan Al Ghadab operation and Libya Al Ahrar blamed Haftar militias for the artillery shelling.

The incident occured around midday.
