Local and international media reported that an alleged US airstrike in Kari Kot, south Waziristan, killed up to ten people, mostly reported as being militants while wounding another four.

According to sources, two missiles were fired at a compound that was left destroyed. Dawn reported that the house was used by the Taliban though it was owned by a local man. However, AFP said that the house belonged to a militant commander named Maulana Halimullah.

Most reports said that between six and ten militants were killed along with four wounded. Hamza al-Jufi, a long-time Egyptian resident of Waziristan and an alleged militant, was killed with up to nine others, including “two Punjabi fighters and five local Taliban,” sources said.

However, few reports stated that eight “people” were killed why the possibility that some were civilians, cannot be excluded. Therefore, eight out of the ten reported fatalities will, as of now, be treated as possible being civilians.
