Up to five people, most likely militants, but possible civilians, were killed in the first of three linked airstrikes in north Waziristan on November 3rd. The second and third strike are detailed in Ob155 and Ob156.

The first strike took place in Qutab Khel, where local and international news reported between four and five deaths, as a car “loaded with arms and ammunition” was destroyed, also damaging a nearby house. “It detonated in the attack and the vehicle caught fire – nobody can go near the vehicle,” a security official told Al Jazeera.

While media reports said foreigners were killed, specified by some as “Uzbeks”, a secret official Pakistani document, published by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism in January 2014, said four “locals” were killed.

Though almost all sources described the killed as militants, civilian harm cannot be excluded as above document as well as reporting from Xinhua, reported the killed as “people” or “locals” without providing further details.

All known sources blamed a US drone.
