Two or three civilians were possibly among the up to four fatalities, following an alleged US strike on a vehicle in Norak, north Waziristan, local and international news reported.

According to a range of sources, as many as four militants were killed as a moving vehicle was reported to have ‘exploded into a fireball’, allegedly caused by a US drone, firing two to four missiles.

However, an internal Pakistani record of CIA drone strikes said two people were killed in this strike on a vehicle. The document, published by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism in January 2014 recorded both as locals, and thus, possible civilians.

Moreover, several reports, including Tribune Express and GeoTV, reported three “people” killed, again suggesting civilian harm.

All known sources said that the US – specifically a US Predator drone – was behind the strike.
