The US allegedly carried out a drone strike in Spinwan, Hassan Khel, north Waziristan, local and international media reported, though it was not clear whether the four fatalities, reported killed in the strike, were militants or civilians.

Some reports described how a drone missed a vehicle with its first missile, allowing four occupants to escape on foot. Alternatively, some reports claimed that all of those in the vehicle were killed. The death toll varied across reports, spanning from three to four.

While several reported specified that only alleged militants were killed, other sources merely referred to the fatalities as “people”, and the possibility of civilian harm arising from the strike can therefore, as of now, not be excluded.

All known reports said that the US – more specifically a US Predator drone – was behind the strike.
