Following the morning strike on two houses (Ob177), the US allegedly struck again shortly after, killing up to 12 people, hereof at least two civilians, and wounding three, local and internatonal news reported.

After waiting up to three hours, rescuers reportedly attempted to retrieve the dead and injured from Ob177, when drones struck again. The death toll varied among the sources, with some reporting “at least” two deaths while others put the death toll at as many as 12.

Dawn reported: “Local officials said that two missiles were fired at two suspected compounds at around 10am on Tuesday in Sherkhel area, an abandoned Afghan refugee camp in Ghulam Khan tehsil. Four people were killed. The area people said that Kochis (Afghan nomads) lived in the compounds. Local people were searching the place for survivors when the drone fired two missiles, killing four more people and injuring three others.”

While most reports described the killed as militants, Thaindian and The Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ) reported at least two civilian deaths, while noting the number could be higher.

TBIJ’s researchers in Waziristan identified two civilians by name, listed below, named, though they were not reported as rescuers.

All known sources said that the strike was the work of a US drone.
