In the final of three linked strikes on December 28th (see Ob177 and Ob178), three vehicles carrying the wounded from the two previous attacks were struck near Nawab, Ghulam Khan, north Waziristan, killing up to ten people and wounding another six, local and international media reported.

Dawn reported: “In the third strike, a pickup truck carrying the wounded people from Ghulam Khan was targeted near another abandoned refugee camp called Nawab camp. Two missiles were fired in which four people were killed.”

While Dawn put the death toll at four, others said that as many as ten were killed and six injured. Some specified that the killed were militants while other merely described them as “people”, thus suggesting the possibility of civilians casualties.

Moreover, a secret Pakistani document, published by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism in January 2014, said ten “locals” were killed in the strike. The internal strike record said: “US Drone carried out missile strike at suspected vehicles of militants…Unconfirmed reports indicate that 06 missiles were fired intermittently at two cars and a pickup.”

All know sources blamed a US drone for the incident.
