In the first of three linked strikes (see Ob189 and Ob190), the US allegedly struck a car in Doga Mada Khel, north Waziristan, killing up to four alleged militants, local and international news outlets reported.

According to a local intelligence official, cited by GeoTV:  “The US drone hit a car immediately after it parked outside a house. Three militants have been killed,” who added that the car was completely destroyed and the house badly damaged.

At least two alleged militants were killed in the vehicle, while others said that a total of four militants were killed.

As the only one, Xinhua, who put the death toll at three, described the killed as “people”, instead of militants, thus indicating that civilians possibly where among the fatalities.

All known sources said that the strike was the work of a US drone.
