The US allegedly carried out a drone strike in Azam Warsak, south Waziristan, that according to some reports killed up to six people and injured up to five, most likely militants, though others claimed that the drone missed its target, allowing all to flee alive.

Following the strike, reporting was confused, with some media claiming that up to six alleged militants were killed and five injured – and others that all were able to flee when a missile initially missed the car.

In January 2014 the Bureau of Investigative Journalism published an internal Pakistan government record of US drone strikes. It said there were “no casualties confirmed” in this strike, and that “about 1015 hours, drone fired four missiles at a double cab pickup boarded by 5-6 non-local militants,” the document said. “Vehicle damaged but the boarded militants made their escape good.”

However, because one source, Xinhua, reported four “people” as killed, not specified as militants, they will, as of now, be considered as possible being civilians.
