This strike, killing an uncertain number of militants, was part of one of the largest US drone attack on Pakistani soil as of 2010, striking multiple Taliban and al-Qaeda strongholds in north Waziristan, local and international media reported.

According to Times of India, the attack hit four villages; Deegan, Muhammad Khel (Ob67), Pai Khel (Ob68) and Toor Narai (Ob65) – all said to be strongholds of the Haqqani network.

This entry deals with the strikes in Deegan, where “drones six missiles at compounds in the Deegan area,” as reported by The New York Times.

The New York Time said that “at least” four people were killed.

Besides from New York Times figures, casualties are unknown. However, a secret Pakistani report, published by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism in January 2014, listed a total of 24 people were killed in airstrikes in Toor Narai (Ob65) and in this one, in Deegan.

There were no reports of civilian harm.
