Five to eight suspected militants were killed and another three “people” were left wounded in an alleged US strike on a militant compound owned by “a relative of a Taliban commander” in Inzar, north Waziristan, local and international media reported.

Dawn cited a senior security official telling how “a US drone fired two missiles on a militant compound near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. At least five militants were killed.”

The Long War Journal added that three others were left wounded. Until their status is specified, they will be treated as being possible civilians.

All known sources said that the incident was the work of a US drone.
