Four to five people, most likely militants but possibly civilians, were killed and another four were injured as an alleged US drone struck a road in Ambar Shaga, north Waziristan, local and international media reported.

Most reports said that four militants, described by some as “Arabs”, were killed by two strikes on their vehicle while up to four other militants were injured after pulling their car over to pray by the roadside around 6.45pm. On the other hand, in January 2014 the Bureau of Investigative Journalism published a secret Pakistan government report that tallies five deaths in this strike.

However, Dawn merely reported that four “people” were killed and one left injured, suggesting that the victims could be civilians, which thus will be reflected in Airwars’ assessment below.

All known sources said that the  strike was carried out by a US drone.
