Airwars assessment
Two civilians, including a woman, were killed by alleged Russian airstrikes and/or shelling of Milova village on March 11, 2022.
The Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group reported that according to the Mayor of Balakliya Ivan Stolbovy two people were killed by two Russian airstrikes that struck two residential buildings, a two story building and a four story building.
Suspilne News identified one of the civilians killed as being a member of the Balakliya City Council from the Svitlichna “Together” bloc. A Facebook post by Block Svitlichna Together Kharkiv described the victim as “a true patriot, a bright personality, and a wonderful person.” The mayor of Balakliya, the deputy corps and the executive committee also posted a condolence message for the woman killed.
Kharkiv Today referred to the incident as being a result of shelling, and specified that the location was the village of Milova in the Balakliya community.
