On May 8th 2022, the Russian Military allegedly shelled villages in the Kharkiv district of the Kharkiv region, including Tsyrkuny killing one person. The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration Oleh Syniehubov noted that one person died in Tsyrkuny on Telegram and Facebook. His post was quoted in news sources like Suspilne and Zakhid amongst others. There were no pictures of the shelling site.

Reports of the incident mention the village of Tsyrkuny (Циркуни), in addition to the Kharkivskyi district (Харківський район) at large. The generic coordinates for Tsyrkuny are: 50.08635, 36.37432. The generic coordinates for Kharkivskyi district are: 49.99408, 36.18546. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.
