At 2:50 p.m. on December 31, 2024, a Kurdish man from Syria was seriously injured as a result of an alleged Turkish artillery shelling of a gravel and sand factory located on the banks of the Sabna River near the village of Sarkali, in the Amadiya district in Dohuk Governorate of Iraq.
According to Iraq.lens, the heavy artillery shelling injured one of the workers at the factory, a 35-year-old Kurdish civilian from Syria with minor injuries to his leg. He was transferred to Amadiya Hospital to receive the necessary treatment. Rudaw News reported that the injured man was transferred to Duhok Emergency Hospital.
Roj News provided more detailed information, noting that the shelling took place at 2:50 p.m., and the victim was identified as 37-year-old factory worker Muhammad Hamid Rahman.
According to Rudaw News, the material damage was inflicted on the factory. Sherwan Sarkli, a resident of Sarkli village, also confirmed the information about the shelling and the injury of Muhammad Hamid. Rudaw News also posted a video showing white clouds of smoke billowing in the sky on the horizon, as a result of the alleged artillery shelling.
