Two suspected Al Qaeda militants were killed by alleged US drone strikes in Ataq in Shabwa governorate on August 12, 2013.

A local official told Reuters that a suspected US drone attacked a vehicle. ‘The car was completely obliterated and the two men inside it were killed,’ he said. There was no information about the identity of the dead men, although Reuters described them as ‘suspected Islamist militants’.

A tweet from @rezqali1 tweeted that two sources had reported that an American strike killed two of the Bakazem family near Ataq in Shabwa. @YenNews1 stated that the strike was carried out by a US drone and targeted “a vehicle of presumed Al Qaeda operatives.”
