On July 12, 2026, three people, including a child, were reported injured following the alleged interception of an Iranian missile in Qatar.
According to the state-run Qatar News Agency and others, “the Ministry of Interior confirmed that three people, including a child, were injured by falling shrapnel from the interception operations. The ministry stated that the injured are receiving the necessary medical care.” The report also referred to the incident as “following Iranian attacks.”
The same day, @khbarpls news platform reported via Facebook that “Iran announce[d] it bombed Al Udeid military base in Qatar in retaliation for U.S. attacks on its cities.” Similarly, @Al-Masry Al-Youm reported that Iran claimed to have targeted the U.S. base in Qatar “with ballistic missiles.”
It is not clear if the victims were injured by Iranian projectiles or by the munitions used to intercept them – or both. Therefore, Airwars has graded the strike status of this incident as “contested” with a “weak” civilian harm grading due to the repetitive nature of the sources, which all quoted the Qatar Ministry of Interior.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the initial attack to Iranian forces; however, the available sources did not specify whether the reported interception was carried out by U.S. or Qatari forces. Therefore, all three actors have been listed as suspected belligerents.
