Up to three Palestinians were reportedly killed in a declared Israeli drone strike near Yemen Al-Saeed Hospital in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip, on 9 April 2026. The reported victims were 37-year-old Ahmed Muhammad Saleh (contested) and Saleh Hamid. A third individual was killed and has been identified as a militant: 25-year-old Abdullah Muhammad Saleh. Multiple sources also reported that several or three other people were wounded, though no identities were provided.
The next day, the Israeli Defense Forces announced the killing of Ahmed Muhammad Saleh in a statement published on their Telegram channel. According to the statement, the IDF “eliminated” Ahmed Mohammed Saleh, allegedly a “Hamas Nukhba terrorist, who had carried out and advanced numerous terror attacks against IDF troops.” The IDF also claimed striking “additional Hamas terrorists” during the attack.
@Nurse Haneen Alkass on Facebook referred to Ahmed Saleh as to a “heroic martyr”, which may possibly indicate his involvement in the combat. Based on this information, Airwars has recorded Ahmed Saleh's civilian status as contested. This will be updated should additional information become available.
A post from palestine.martyrs reported that Ahmed had been targeted in a number of strikes, resulting in personal injury, as well as the death of his wife and injury to his young son.
On May 6, 2026, a Telegram account affiliated with Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ)'s armed wing posted a tribute to five members of the group, naming Abdullah Muhammad Saleh as a member of the Northern Brigade, and confirming that he was killed on April 9, 2026. As such, Abdullah Saleh has been recorded as a militant.
Photographs shared by WAFA News Agency showed community members carrying one of the victims in a white body bag following the strike. Al-Sabeel News also shared images of mourners gathering around the bodies, with relatives and community members embracing the white body bags in farewell.
Numerous condolence messages were shared following the deaths. Anas Al Sharif wrote on Facebook: “Blessed are they, martyrs in the sight of their Lord.” Another account, Nurse Haneen Alkaas, also shared a lovely, hopeful prayer: “May God have mercy on them and accept them among the martyrs and the righteous. God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.”
Where sources identified a belligerent, all attributed the strike to Israeli forces.
