In detail, his brother, Hussam al-Rafati, posted on his Facebook page: "We belong to God and to Him we shall return. My brother, Dr. Ayman Hamad al-Rafati, his wife, and their three children, Anas, Abdullah, and Maryam, were martyred after their home in Gaza City was targeted. We say only what pleases our Lord: 'Indeed, we belong to God, and indeed, to Him we will return.'"
