We believe that they have moved from the narrowness of our world to the vastness of our Lord’s mercy and Paradise. We do not vouch for anyone before God. Be steadfast and patient. May God have mercy on Abu Anas, Umm Anas, Sarah, Anas, Maryam, Aya, and Abdul Rahman with a vast mercy.

Forty-five days ago, on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, we were searching for the "bride of goodness" for our wise man Laith, the seeker of light through his morals. In a fleeting moment, but one that changed the course of life, my brother was working with a patient, and next to him was the great wise man Yahya Shihab, searching for light amidst the rubble of war, striving for a life filled with peace and serenity, his companion in the field during a time of pain and patience. One of Laith's colleagues, Ali bin Zayed Junaid, said: "Haven't you found a bride?" Laith replied with a calm smile: "I'm still searching..." Then came the voice of the wise man Abu Anas, carrying seriousness and affection between his tones: "I have a daughter, and I would be honored to have you." Laith thought it was just a joke, but night came, carrying a call confirming that the words were a promise, not a joke. And there, my brother found the light. Yes, he found it for us and for him. Sarah, the daughter of authenticity, the symbol of literature, and the source of generosity and knowledge, was engaged. Sarah, pure as a white cloud, and her family entered our home, as if they had lived among us for a hundred years, as if the souls knew each other before the eyes met. They took our hearts, inhabited our conscience, then departed from this world, leaving behind an unforgettable memory and an indelible goodness. I swear to God, no matter what we write, and no matter how many phrases we formulate, we will not give them their due, nor reach the extent of their kindness, nor reach the greatness of their healing of our feelings. To the mercy of God, O fasting, pious, pure, virtuous, and happy family. May God have mercy on you, and make the highest paradise your home, contentment your garment, and eternity in heaven your reward.... All of you are Abu Anas, Umm Anas, Sarah, Anas, Abdul, Maryam, and Aya.

قبل خمسة وأربعين يوم، وفي أول أيام عيد الفطر السعيد، كنا نبحث عن "عروسة الخير" لحكيمنا ليث، الباحث عن النور باخلاقه وفي لحظة عابرة، لكنها غيرت مجرى العمر، كان أخي يعمل مع أحد المرضى، وبجواره الحكيم الكبير يحيى شهاب،الباحث عن النور وسط ركام الحرب، والساعي إلى حياة يسكنها السلام والسكينةرفيقه في الميدان في زمن الألم والصبر. قال أحد زملاء ليث، علي بن زايد جنيد: "أما وجدتَ عروسًا؟" فرد ليث بابتسامة هادئة: "ما زلت أبحث..." فجاء صوت الحكيم أبو أنس، يحمل بين نبراته الجد والمودة: "عندي بنت، وأتشرف بك."ظن ليث أنها مزحة عابرة، لكن الليل جاء، حاملاً اتصالًا يؤكد أن الكلمة كانت وعدًا، لا دعابة. وهنا وجد اخي النور نعم وجده لنا وله خُطبت سارة، ابنة الأصالة، ورمز الأدب، ومنبع الكرم والعلم. سارة، النقية كغيمة بيضاء، دخلت وأهلها منزلنا، فكأنهم عاشوا بيننا منذ مئة عام، وكأن الأرواح تعارفت قبل أن تلتقي الأعين.لقد أخذوا قلوبنا، وسكنوا وجداننا، ثم رحلوا عن هذه الدنيا، تاركين وراءهم ذكرى لا تُنسى، وطيبًا لا يُمحى. أقسم بالله، مهما كتبنا، ومهما صغنا من عبارات، فلن نوفيهم حقهم، ولا نبلغ مدى معروفهم، ولا نصل إلى عظمة جبرهم لخواطرنا.إلى رحمة الله، أيتها العائلة الصوّامة، القوّامة، الطاهرة، الزاكية، الهنية. رحمكم الله، وجعل الفردوس الأعلى داركم، والرضا لباسكم، والخلود في الجنة جزاءكم.... كلكم ابو انس وام انس وسارة وأنس وعبد ومريم واية.

Oh God, isn't this blood enough, oh Lord, your forgiveness, oh Generous One... Earthquake... The horrors of the Day of Judgment... May God have mercy on you, my dear ones... Tamara, Sarah, Maryam, and Aya... Anas and Abdo... May God heal you, Abu Anas, and give you strength in your affliction... Who is my neighbor whom I see every day... We go out together... And stay up late together... Oh God, you have become memories in the blink of an eye... Today, Sarah, you called me... We don't want to be filled with sadness... To God we belong and to Him we shall return... May God illuminate your graves, comfort your loneliness, forgive your sins, and make your grave a garden from the gardens of Paradise... It was once a space of healing, where compassion guided every step. This is Yahya Shehab, the hospital nurse whose quiet kindness and profound humanity touched the life of every child and family he cared for. Yahya was martyred this morning in northern Gaza. His loss is priceless, not only for those who worked alongside him, but for every young patient who found solace in his presence. He was more than just a nurse; he was a source of dignity, healing, and compassion in the most difficult moments. We are tired of writing these condolences. We are tired of losing the best among us. But we must honor Yahya's memory by continuing the work he believed in: saving lives, restoring hope, and standing by the most vulnerable, especially the children of Gaza. May God have mercy on him, may his pure soul rest in peace, and may his legacy live on through every charitable work he does thereafter.

في ذكرى يحيى شهاب المحبوبة التُقطت هذه الصورة في قسم أورام الأطفال التابع لجمعية إغاثة أطفال فلسطين، التابع للدكتور موسى وسهيل ناصر، في غزة. كان يومًا ما فضاءً للشفاء، حيث كان الرحمة هي المرشد لكل خطوة. هذا هو يحيى شهاب، ممرض المستشفى الذي لمس لطفه الهادئ وإنسانيته العميقة حياة كل طفل وعائلة كان يرعاها. استشهد يحيى صباح اليوم في شمال غزة. خسارته لا تُقدر بثمن، ليس فقط لمن عملوا بجانبه، بل لكل مريض شاب وجد العزاء في وجوده. كان أكثر من مجرد ممرض؛ كان مصدرًا للكرامة والشفاء والرحمة في أصعب اللحظات. لقد سئمنا من كتابة هذه التعازي. سئمنا من فقدان أفضل من بيننا. ولكن يجب أن نُخلّد ذكرى يحيى بمواصلة العمل الذي آمن به: إنقاذ الأرواح، واستعادة الأمل، والوقوف إلى جانب الفئات الأكثر ضعفًا، وخاصة أطفال غزة. رحمه الله، ولتكن روحه الطاهرة في سلام، ولتبقى إرثه حيًا من خلال كل عمل خيري يقوم به بعد ذلك.

My beloved uncle Yahya Shihab “Abu Anas” and his wife and children are martyrs, among the best and most noble people I have known. Gentle, kind, close, cheerful, humble, and generous. He spent his life helping the distressed and treating the afflicted. His giving was limitless, and his smile was a cure for every person in pain. May God accept you and raise your status among the immortals.
