During the evening of Monday, 30 March 2026, 27-year-old Haneen Mohammed Tawfiq al-Hour (Abu Al-Ainin) was allegedly shot and killed by Israeli forces in the Abdul Aal Hall in Camp 5 of Nuseirat Refugee Camp, in central Gaza.

‘Rafah City Official Page' reported that the Al-Awda Complex had received a person who had been killed by “drones firing at citizens’ homes in Camp 5 in Nuseirat, central Gaza Strip,” marking the information as “urgent.” The ‘Nuseirat News Page’ Facebook account identified Haneen as the fatal victim of the shooting.

According to the ‘Al-Zawaida now’ Facebook account, ‘Nuseirat News Page,’ and other social media users, Haneen was killed by a “stray bullet” inside the Abdul Aal Hall in Camp 5 of Nuseirat camp. Additionally, according to Ibrahim Rabah, Ahmed Al Muzanin and others the drone was “firing towards citizens’ homes in Camp 5 area.” Sources such as @Talal Sharshara, @Qadeyah1 and Kari Abdullah Thabit reported that Haneen was shot by a “quadcopter.”

At 10:11 p.m., Nuseirat News Page posted an “important notice” calling into question the nature of the weapon that killed Haneen. The source reported that “the Criminal Evidence and Rapid Response Department in the Central Governorate has completed its examination of the death of citizen Haneen Muhammad Tawfiq Al-Hour,” and that “upon examining the body and the scene of the incident, the projectile that caused the injury was collected. The shape and trajectory of the projectile are consistent with those fired by [Israeli military] vehicles. It has been recommended that the case be recognized as a martyr of the Al-Aqsa events, and the case will be referred to forensic medicine to complete the procedures.” The post included a photograph of a bronze bullet on a grey background, perhaps the one that killed Haneen. Central News also reported that Haneen was killed “by a gunshot."

Facebook account ‘Nuseirat brings us together’ posted that Haneen was rushed to hospital in a critical condition before she succumbed to her injuries.

Fayez Kh Ashour posted to Facebook that Haneen was the wife of their friend Khaled Abu al-Ainin Abu Ayyush. Haneen appears on the lists of fatalities shared online by Shireen Monitor, an organisation which has a list of “Martyrs of Palestine” from 2023 onward, with part of her husband’s family name – ‘Haneen Muhammad Tawfiq Abu Al-Ainin.’

Haneen’s brother, Ibrahim al-Hour, mourned her on Facebook, explaining that Haneen was “the first girl in our house, the first joy and bride in our house, and the first martyr in our house,” and that he could not comprehend what had happened. He said “you are my soul, more precious than my own.” Attached to Ibrahim’s post is a picture of himself and Haneen, she is wearing a yellow headscarf and a black top with silver gems on the sleeves, they are sitting in the back of a vehicle.

Tawfiq Abo Ahmed, a cousin of Haneen, posted a video of Haneen’s funeral procession. The video shows people greeting and consoling one another, then Haneen’s body, covered in a shroud and on a stretcher, is carried to an apartment. Afterwards, Haneen’s body is taken outside, people pray around her body; one man is seen distraught whilst mourning. Lastly, the video shows Haneen’s body being carried to her burial site.

Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the shooting to the Israeli military.
