The exact location and origin of the explosions are still unknown.” Vahid Online provided a similar timeline, sharing messages received during the attack: “Khorramabad at 3:19 am, loud explosion; Khorramabad, loud explosion now; Right now, loud explosion Khorramabad; 3:20 [a.m.] Hello Khorramabad, two loud explosions right now at 3:19 a.m.; Hello Khorramabad, terrible, the window shook; Khorramabad was shaking; Khorramabad, terrible, our windows shook; Hello, a missile was fired from Khorramabad just now.” Similarly, Almihwar News published a grainy, nighttime photo of a fireball and reported that “an explosion was heard in Khorramabad.” According to ‘Latest news from Lorestan,’ “The sound of the explosion in Khorramabad was related to the enemy's blind strike on an uninhabited area.”

At 6:31 a.m., SNN reported that “two people were injured in a drone attack on Khorramabad this morning,” according to the Deputy Governor of Lorestan. There were no additional sources found reporting on civilian harm during this time in the same location.

Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to U.S. forces. Following the strikes, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced via Twitter/X that it had “targeted Iranian military command centers, drone storage facilities, communication networks, coastal surveillance sites, and maritime capabilities to further diminish the threat Iran poses to civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.” CENTCOM did not specify in its statement that it had carried out strikes in Khorammabad; therefore, Airwars has graded the strike status of this incident as “likely".
