A Pakistani national was killed by falling debris in the Bani Yas area of Abu Dhabi following the interception of a ballistic missile.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office stated on its official X platform on Tuesday that authorities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi responded to an incident involving falling debris in the Bani Yas area after a ballistic missile was intercepted by air defenses, resulting in the death of a Pakistani national.

The office urged the public to obtain information only from official sources and to avoid spreading rumors or unverified information.

Earlier on Tuesday, the UAE Ministry of Defense stated that Emirati air defenses were responding to missile and drone attacks originating from Iran.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) quoted the Ministry of Defense as explaining that the sounds heard in various parts of the UAE were the result of air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles and fighter jets intercepting drones and other aerial vehicles.

وقال مكتب أبوظبي الإعلامي، على حسابه الرسمي على منصة "إكس"، الثلاثاء، إن الجهات المختصة في إمارة أبوظبي تعاملت مع حادث نتيجة سقوط شظايا في منطقة بني ياس، عقب اعتراض صاروخ باليستي من قبل الدفاعات الجوية، مما أسفر عن مقتل شخص من الجنسية الباكستانية.

وأهاب بالجمهور استقاء المعلومات من المصادر الرسمية فقط، وتجنُّب تداول الشائعات أو المعلومات غير الموثوقة.

وكانت وزارة الدفاع الإماراتية قالت فجر الثلاثاء، إن الدفاعات الجوية الإماراتية تتعامل مع اعتداءات صاروخية وطائرات مسيرة قادمة من إيران.

ونقلت وكالة أنباء الإمارات عن وزارة الدفاع توضيحها أن الأصوات المسموعة في مناطق متفرقة من دولة الإمارات هي نتيجة اعتراض كل من منظومات الدفاع الجوي للصواريخ البالستية، والمقاتلات للطائرات المسيرة والجوالة.
