Beirut – Israeli warplanes killed an entire family in a bombing raid on a house in the town of Shaath, in the Baalbek district of eastern Lebanon, late Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Israel continued its airstrikes this morning on towns in southern Lebanon, hours after an international statement called for a 21-day ceasefire to allow diplomatic efforts to reach a solution.

The official Lebanese National News Agency reported that “last night was the most violent in the Israeli aggression against the city of Baalbek and its surrounding towns.”

It added that “families in Baalbek were not spared from the killing machine and the massacres committed against them last night, including an airstrike that destroyed the home of Turki Zaaiter in the town of Shaath, killing all members of his family,” without providing further details.

The agency also reported that other towns in Baalbek were targeted by Israeli airstrikes, including Nabi Sheet, which was targeted several times both inside and on its outskirts, and Younine, where a gas station was targeted. In addition to the towns of Khader, Brital, Bzaliyeh, and Dours, which witnessed intense airstrikes that destroyed buildings and shops both within the towns and along the international highway.

The agency also noted that the city of Baalbek was also targeted by Israeli airstrikes, specifically a building in the Al-Mahatta neighborhood adjacent to the home of Ali Youssef Hijazi, Secretary-General of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party.

It indicated that the bombing struck the security and guard rooms at Hijazi's residence, which he was not at the time, resulting in injuries to an unspecified number of his companions.

It reported that the area surrounding the city of Hermel (on the border with Syria in the east of the country) was also subjected to several airstrikes overnight.

It stated that an Israeli drone flew at low altitude over Beirut's southern suburbs overnight.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli warplanes launched a series of intense airstrikes on towns in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon, including Tirdaba, Bedyas, Ma'raka, and Bazouriyeh. He added that fighter jets launched further raids on the Nabatieh district (south), including the town of Kfar Remman and a house between the towns of Zawtar and Nabatieh al-Fawqa. It was not immediately clear whether these raids resulted in any casualties.

These morning raids came hours after a joint statement issued early Thursday by 12 countries and organizations, including the United States and France, calling for a 21-day ceasefire to allow for diplomatic efforts.

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid al-Ansari said on Thursday that his country was unaware of any “direct link between the efforts to achieve calm in Gaza and in Lebanon.”

This came during a press conference held by al-Ansari in Doha.

Regarding a possible link between the efforts to achieve calm in Lebanon and Gaza, al-Ansari said: “I am not aware of any direct link between the efforts to achieve calm in Lebanon and Gaza… but the two issues are intertwined and their paths run parallel.”

He added, “Lebanon is facing a full-fledged Israeli war, not an escalation, and Qatar is calling for an immediate end to the war in both Gaza and Lebanon.” He affirmed that Qatar is continuing its contacts with its partners to end the wars in both Gaza and Lebanon, and that Doha's mediation efforts in this regard will not cease.

Since Monday morning, the Israeli army has been waging its most intense and widespread attack on Lebanon since the start of the confrontations with Hezbollah nearly a year ago, resulting in 636 deaths, including children and women, in addition to 2,505 injuries and approximately 390,000 displaced persons.

Meanwhile, sirens continue to wail in Israel following Hezbollah's launch of hundreds of rockets at military sites, settlements, and the Mossad headquarters in Tel Aviv, amidst a strict media blackout on human and material losses, according to observers.

بيروت- قتل الطيران الحربي “الإسرائيلي”، ليل الأربعاء الخميس، عائلة بأكملها خلال قصف على منزل في بلدة شعث بقضاء بعلبك شرق لبنان.
فيما واصلت “إسرائيل” شن غارات جوية صباح اليوم على بلدات جنوب لبنان، بعد ساعات من صدور بيان دولي دعا إلى وقف إطلاق نار لمدة 21 يوما من أجل إتاحة الفرصة للجهود الدبلوماسية للحل.
وقالت وكالة الأنباء اللبنانية الرسمية إن “الليلة الماضية كانت الأعنف في فصول العدوان الإسرائيلي على مدينة بعلبك والبلدات التابعة لها”.
وأضافت أن “العائلات الآمنة في بعلبك لم تسلم خلال تلك الليلة من آلة القتل وارتكاب المجازر في حقها، ومن ذلك غارة دمرت منزل المواطن تركي زعيتر في بلدة شعت، وأدت إلى استشهاد جميع أفراد العائلة”، دون ذكر تفاصل أخرى بالخصوص.
وذكرت أن بلدات أخرى في بعلبك كانت عرضة للغارات الإسرائيلية بينها النبي شيت التي تم استهدافها عدة مرات في الداخل وعلى الأطراف، وبلدة يونين التي تم استهداف محطة وقود بها.
إضافة إلى بلدات الخضر وبريتال والبزالية ودورس، التي شهدت غارات عنيفة أدت إلى تدمير مبانٍ ومحال تجارية في داخلها وعلى الطريق الدولية.
ولفتت الوكالة كذلك إلى أن مدينة بعلبك شهدت هي الأخرى غارات إسرائيلية استهدفت مبنى بحي المحطة مجاور لمنزل الأمين العام لـ”حزب البعث العربي الاشتراكي” علي يوسف حجازي.
وأشارت إلى القصف طال غرف الحماية والحراسة بمنزل حجازي الذي لم يكن متواجدا به وقتها؛ ما أدى إلى إصابة عدد (لم تحدده) من مرافقيه.
وذكرت أن محيط مدينة الهرمل (الحدودية مع سوريا شرق البلاد) تعرض كذلك لعدد من الغارات ليلا.
وأفادت بأن طائرة مسيّرة اسرائيلية حلقت ليلا على علو منخفض فوق ضاحية بيروت الجنوبية.
وذكر شهود عيان إن مقاتلات إسرائيلية شنت سلسلة غارات عنيفة على بلدات بقضاء صور جنوب لبنان تشمل طيردبا وبدياس ومعركة والبازورية.
وأضاف أن المقاتلات شنت غارات أخرى على قضاء النبطية (جنوب) شملت بلدة كفررمان ومنزل بين بلدتي زوطر والنبطية الفوقا. ولم تتضح على الفور ما إذا كانت هذه الغارات أدت إلى سقوط ضحايا من عدمه.
وتأتي هذه الغارات الصباحية بعد ساعات من صدور بيان مشترك فجر الخميس عن 12 دولة ومنظمة، بينها الولايات المتحدة وفرنسا، يدعو إلى وقف مؤقت لإطلاق النار لمدة 21 يوما، وذلك لإتاحة الفرصة للجهود الدبلوماسية.
وقال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية القطرية، ماجد الأنصاري، الخميس، إن بلاده ليس لديها علم حول وجود “ارتباط مباشر بين مساعي التهدئة في غزة وفي لبنان”.
جاء ذلك في مؤتمر صحفي، عقده الأنصاري، بالدوحة.
وقال الأنصاري بشأن وجود ارتباط بين مساعي التهدئة بلبنان وغزة: “ليس لدي علم بارتباط مباشر بين مساعي التهدئة بلبنان وغزة (..) ولكن الملفين متداخلان ومساراهما متوازيان”.
وأضاف “لبنان يواجه حربا إسرائيلية مكتملة الأركان وليس تصعيدا وقطر تدعو لوقف الحرب الآن في غزة ولبنان”.
وأكد أن قطر تواصل اتصالاتها مع شركائها لوقف الحرب في كل من غزة ولبنان، وأن وساطة الدوحة في ذلك الشأن لن تتوقف عن مسارها.
ومنذ صباح الاثنين الماضي، يشن الجيش الإسرائيلي “أعنف وأوسع” هجوم على لبنان منذ بدء المواجهات مع “حزب الله” قبل نحو عام، وأسفر عن 636 قتيلا، بينهم أطفال ونساء، بالإضافة إلى 2505 جريحا ونحو 390 ألف نازح.
في المقابل، يستمر دوي صفارات الإنذار في “إسرائيل”، إثر إطلاق “حزب الله” مئات الصواريخ على مواقع عسكرية ومستوطنات ومقر “الموساد” بتل أبيب، وسط تعتيم صارم على الخسائر البشرية والمادية، حسب مراقبين.
