Baghdad, June 21, 2025 (Xinhua) -- An Iraqi armed group announced on Saturday the death of a senior commander, along with the personal bodyguard of former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and his son, in an Israeli airstrike on the Iraqi-Iranian border. The Sayyid al-Shuhada Brigades, one of the factions within the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, said in a statement that its security unit chief, Haider al-Moussawi, was killed along with Abu Ali al-Khalil, the personal bodyguard of former Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, and his son, Mahdi al-Khalil. The statement added that the three were killed in a "treacherous Israeli attack" on the border region between Iraq and Iran, without providing further details. The Islamic Resistance in Iraq comprises a number of Shiite armed factions and has previously claimed responsibility for several attacks against bases housing US forces in Iraq and Israeli positions.

بغداد 21 يونيو 2025 (شينخوا) أعلنت مجموعة عراقية مسلحة اليوم (السبت) مقتل قيادي بارز فيها مع المرافق الشخصي للأمين العام السابق لحزب الله حسن نصر الله ونجله، في قصف إسرائيلي على الحدود العراقية الإيرانية.وقالت "كتائب سيد الشهداء"، وهي إحدى الفصائل المنضوية في المقاومة الإسلامية في العراق في بيان، إن رئيس وحدة الأمن فيها حيدر الموسوي، قُتل مع أبو علي الخليل المرافق الشخصي لأمين عام حزب الله اللبناني السابق حسن نصر الله، ونجله مهدي الخليل.وأضاف البيان أن الثلاثة قتلوا في "هجوم إسرائيلي غادر" على المنطقة الحدودية بين العراق وإيران، دون مزيد من التفاصيل.وتضم المقاومة الإسلامية في العراق مجموعة من الفصائل الشيعية المسلحة، وسبق أن تبنت العديد من الهجمات ضد قواعد تتواجد فيها قوات أمريكية في العراق ومواقع إسرائيلية.
