Washington, March 2, 2026 (Xinhua) -- Two U.S. Department of Defense employees were injured when an Iranian drone struck a hotel in Bahrain amid the ongoing massive U.S.-Israeli offensive against Iran, The Washington Post reported Monday, citing a U.S. State Department cable.

"Two Department of Defense employees were injured," the cable stated.

The newspaper said the cable was sent Sunday and provided no further details.

The U.S. Embassy in Bahrain warned American citizens Sunday that "hotels may be targets of attacks" and advised them to avoid hotels in Manama.

ونقل عن البرقية قولها "أصيب اثنان من موظفي الوزارة".

وقالت الصحيفة إن البرقية أرسلت يوم الأحد ولم تقدم مزيدا من التفاصيل.

أبلغت السفارة الأمريكية في البحرين، الأحد، المواطنين الأمريكيين بأن "الفنادق قد تكون هدفا للهجمات، ونصحت المواطنين الأمريكيين بتجنب الفنادق في المنامة"
