Civil Defense Begins Recovering Victims of the Abu Nasr Family Massacre in Beit Lahia

Civil Defense teams continue search operations under the rubble of the destroyed building in northern Gaza for the bodies of the Abu Nasr family.

Palestinian Civil Defense teams began operations days ago to recover the bodies of martyrs and missing persons from under the rubble of the residential building that was targeted by an Israeli airstrike in the Beit Lahia project in northern Gaza, which belonged to the Abu Nasr family.

The five-story building was sheltering approximately 200 displaced people, mostly women and children, when it was targeted in an airstrike on the morning of Tuesday, October 29, 2024. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least 93 Palestinians, including 25 children, and left around 40 people missing, trapped under the rubble since the bombing.

Our correspondent reported that civil defense teams are continuing their search operations, having recovered more bodies after days of continuous efforts. These efforts are hampered by a shortage of heavy equipment and the difficulty of reaching the victims due to the extensive damage to the building.

The recovery operations are taking place amidst complex humanitarian and field conditions. Rescue teams face significant challenges due to the scale of the destruction and limited resources, while families continue their search for their missing loved ones.

This massacre is one of hundreds perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against unarmed civilians during its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

باشرت طواقم الدفاع المدني الفلسطيني قبل أيام، عمليات انتشال جثامين الشهداء والمفقودين من تحت أنقاض المبنى السكني الذي تعرض لغارة جوية إسرائيلية في مشروع بيت لاهيا شمال قطاع غزة، والذي يعود لعائلة أبو نصر.

وكان المبنى المكوّن من خمسة طوابق يؤوي نحو 200 نازح، معظمهم من النساء والأطفال، عندما استُهدف في غارة جوية صباح الثلاثاء 29 أكتوبر 2024، ما أدى إلى استشهاد ما لا يقل عن 93 فلسطينيًا، بينهم 25 طفلًا، إضافة إلى فقدان نحو 40 شخصًا ظلوا تحت الأنقاض منذ وقوع جريمة القصف..

وأفادت مراسلنا أن طواقم الدفاع المدني مازالت مستمرة في عمليات البحث، حيث تمكنت من الوصول إلى جثامين جديدة بعد جهود متواصلة استمرت أيامًا، في ظل نقص المعدات الثقيلة وصعوبة الوصول إلى الضحايا نتيجة الدمار الهائل الذي لحق بالمبنى.

وتأتي عمليات الانتشال في ظل أوضاع إنسانية وميدانية معقدة، حيث تواجه طواقم الإنقاذ تحديات كبيرة نتيجة حجم الدمار ونقص الإمكانيات، فيما يواصل الأهالي البحث عن ذويهم المفقودين.
