A missile attack on residential areas of Lamerd did not only scar the walls of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (CIDCA), but—with the unimaginable passing of Helma Sadat Ahmadi-Zadeh—also lodged a heavy grief in the throat of southern Iran; a crime in which new and deadly munitions were used to target the innocence of children.
According to Fars News Agency reporting from Lamerd, the missile attack on residential areas of the county in southern Fars Province, which took place on the first day of the United States and the Israeli regime’s assault on Iran, left a number of children and adolescents dead and injured, provoking widespread media and social reactions. In the course of the attack, several parts of the city—including the vicinity of Shahid Naeimi Stadium in Lamerd and nearby residential neighborhoods—were struck, resulting in significant human and material damage.
Based on field reports, the building of the Lamerd center of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (CIDCA), located near the site of impact, was also damaged by shrapnel from the explosions. Dozens of pellet and fragment impacts are visible on the walls and windows of the center, indicating the wide dispersal of shrapnel across the area.
Following the incident, and in order to closely examine its dimensions, Ali Khajeh-Nejadian, Director General of the Institute in Fars Province, traveled to Lamerd along with a team of experts.
During these field visits, in addition to assessing the condition of the Institute’s building, several homes of children injured in the attack were also visited.
The wide dispersal of shrapnel over a considerable radius has been cited as one of the reasons for the high number of casualties.
Among the victims was Helma Sadat Ahmadi-Zadeh, a member of the Lamerd center of the Institute, who lost her life after being struck by a fragment and was counted among the dead. According to published reports, although the child appeared to have suffered only minor external bleeding, she died due to the severity of internal injuries.

به گزارش خبرگزاری فارس از لامرد، حمله موشکی به مناطق مسکونی شهرستان لامرد در جنوب استان فارس که در روز اول حمله ایالات متحده آمریکا و رژیم صهیونیستی به ایران رخ داد، با برجای گذاشتن تعدادی شهید و مجروح از میان کودکان و نوجوانان این شهر، واکنشهای گستردهای در سطح رسانهای و اجتماعی برانگیخته است؛ رخدادی که در جریان آن چند نقطه از شهر از جمله محدوده ورزشگاه شهید نعیمی لامرد و برخی مناطق مسکونی هدف اصابت موشک قرار گرفت و خسارات انسانی و مادی قابل توجهی برجای گذاشت.
بر اساس گزارشهای میدانی، در جریان این حمله ساختمان مرکز کانون پرورش فکری کودکان و نوجوانان لامرد نیز که در نزدیکی محل اصابت موشک قرار داشت، از ترکشهای ناشی از انفجار آسیب دیده است. آثار برخورد دهها ساچمه و ترکش ریز بر دیوارها و پنجرههای این مرکز مشاهده شده که نشاندهنده شدت پراکندگی ترکشها در محدوده حادثه بوده است.
در پی وقوع این حادثه و با هدف بررسی دقیق ابعاد آن، علی خواجهنژادیان مدیرکل کانون پرورش فکری کودکان و نوجوانان استان فارس به همراه کارشناسان به شهرستان لامرد سفر کرد.
در جریان این بازدیدهای میدانی، علاوه بر بررسی وضعیت ساختمان کانون پرورش فکری کودکان و نوجوانان لامرد، برخی از منازل کودکانی که در این حادثه مجروح شده بودند نیز مورد بازدید قرار گرفت.
پراکندگی گسترده این ترکشها در شعاع قابل توجهی از محل انفجار نیز یکی از دلایل افزایش تعداد مصدومان در این حادثه عنوان شده است.در میان قربانیان این حادثه، «هلما سادات احمدی زاده» از اعضای مرکز کانون پرورش فکری کودکان و نوجوانان لامرد نیز حضور داشت که بر اثر اصابت یک ترکش جان خود را از دست داد و به جمع شهدا پیوست. بر اساس گزارشهای منتشرشده، این کودک با وجود آنکه دچار خونریزی بیرونی ظاهراً اندکی شده بود، به دلیل شدت آسیب داخلی به شهادت رسید
