On the wall of the council, they have put up a banner of eighteen of the martyrs. Esmail came to the council door to meet us. He stands beside the banner and, like storytellers, introduces the martyrs one by one:
“Martyr Hamid Amini had a PhD in ship engineering from Sharif University of Technology. He had been living in Norway. He had come to Lamerd to see his family. They told him to go back to Norway, that war was about to happen. He replied: I am like ninety million Iranians. My blood is not more valuable.”
I look at the photo of the martyr. A red tie with a white shirt in the background and a jacket over his right hand.

“Helma Ahmadizadeh and Elham Zaeri had gone to the sports hall to practice volleyball. Helma had been hit by a piece of shrapnel in her sternum. Elham was also a ta’ziyeh reciter. For two years, together with her father, she had been reciting the ta’ziyeh of Sakineh (PBUH).”
Both of their faces look very young. Esmail says they were in the fourth grade of elementary school.
“Avina Barzegar was not even two years old. She was in the yard with her mother when shrapnel hit her, and by the time they took her to the hospital, she had been martyred.”

روی دیوار شورا بنر هجده تا از شهدا را زده‌اند. اسماعیل، درب شورا آمد دنبالمان. کنار بنر می‌ایستد و مثل پرده‌خوان‌ها یکی یکی شهدا را معرفی می‌کند:
«شهید حمید امینی دکترای مهندسی کشتی از دانشگاه صنعتی شریف داشته. ساکن نروژ بوده. اومده بوده لامرد خونواده‌ش رو ببینه. بهش گفتن برگرد نروژ الان جنگ میشه، جواب داده منم مثل نود میلیون ایرانی. خونم که رنگین‌تر نیست.»
به عکس شهید نگاه می‌کنم. کراوات قرمز با پس‌زمینه پیراهن سفید و کت روی دست راست.
«هلما احمدی‌زاده و الهام زائری رفته بودن سالن ورزشی برای تمرین والیبال. هلما یه ترکش خورده بوده توی جناغ سینه‌ش. الهام هم تعزیه‌خون بوده. دو سال همراه باباش تعزیه سکینه(س) رو می‌خونده.»
صورت هر دو بچه‌سال می‌زند. اسماعیل می‌گوید کلاس چهارم ابتدایی بوده‌اند.
«آوینا برزگر هم دو ساله‌ش بیشتر نبوده. توی حیاط پیش مامانش بوده که ترکش بهش می‌خوره و تا میبرنش بیمارستان شهید میشه.»
