The Blood of Media at the Baptist Hospital is a New Israeli Crime to Silence the Voice of Truth

In the corners of the Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, where grieving souls are supposed to enjoy safety and healing, those walls were transformed into a tragic scene of one of the most heinous crimes committed by the Israeli occupation army against Palestinian journalists.

Yesterday, on the morning of Arafah, journalists Suleiman Hajjaj, a correspondent for Palestine Today TV, Ismail Badah, a cameraman for the same channel, and their colleague Samir Al-Rifai from Shams News Agency, were working courageously to convey the truth that the occupation has tried to conceal. They documented the massacres being committed against innocent civilians in Gaza.

However, Israeli warplanes breached the hospital's supposed protection and fired a missile directly targeting the journalists, killing three of them and wounding dozens, including journalists, patients, and war-wounded.

These journalists believed that their presence inside the hospital, a place protected under international humanitarian law, would grant them protection, especially given the visibility of their journalistic identities and the clothing they wore to identify them. However, the reality was harsh: no international laws or conventions protect them from the occupation, which is waging a war of genocide against our people.

The targeting of the Baptist Hospital was not an isolated incident; rather, it was the eighth of its kind since the beginning of the brutal war on the Gaza Strip. This is a clear indication that the occupying forces do not recognize the protection of hospitals or their staff, whether patients, healthcare workers, or journalists performing their noble role in conveying the truth.

The journalists bid farewell to their martyred colleagues at the Baptist Hospital with Eid takbirs, affirming their commitment to continuing their campaign to expose the crimes of the Israeli occupation against civilians and defenseless innocents in the Gaza Strip.

في زوايا الأهلي العربي "المعمداني" بمدينة غزة، حيث يفترض أن تنعم الأرواح المكلومة بالأمان والشفاء، تحولت تلك الجدران إلى مسرح مأساوي لواحدة من أبشع الجرائم التي يرتكبها جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي ضد الصحفيين الفلسطينيين.

مع صباح يوم، أمس وقفة عرفة، كان الصحفيون سليمان حجاج مراسل فضائية فلسطين اليوم، وإسماعيل بدح مصور القناة ذاتها، وزميلهم سمير الرفاعي من وكالة شمس نيوز، يعملون بشجاعة لنقل الحقيقة التي حاول الاحتلال أن يخفيها، يوثقون المجازر التي ترتكب بحق المدنيين الأبرياء في غزة.

لكن الطائرات الحربية الإسرائيلية اخترقت الحماية المفترضة للمستشفى، وأطلقت صاروخًا استهدف الصحفيين بشكل مباشر، ما أدى إلى استشهاد ثلاثة منهم وإصابة العشرات، بينهم صحفيون ومرضى وجرحى الحرب.

كان هؤلاء الصحفيون يعتقدون أن وجودهم داخل المستشفى، وهو مكان محمي بموجب القانون الدولي الإنساني، سيمنحهم الحماية، خاصة مع وضوح هوياتهم الصحفية وارتدائهم الملابس التي تميزهم، لكن الواقع كان قاسيًا فلا قوانين ولا مواثيق دولية تحميهم من الاحتلال الذي يشن حرب إبادة جماعية ضد شعبنا.

لم يكن استهداف مستشفى المعمداني حادثة منفردة، بل هو الثامن من نوعه منذ بداية الحرب الضروس على قطاع غزة، لهو دلالة واضحة على أن قوات الاحتلال لا تعترف بحماية المستشفيات أو العاملين فيها، سواء كانوا مرضى، أو موظفي صحة، أو صحفيين يؤدون دورهم النبيل في نقل الحقيقة.

وودع الصحفيون زملاءهم الشهداء في مستشفى المعمداني بتكبيرات العيد، مؤكدين على مواصلة مسيرتهم في فضح جرائم الاحتلال الإسرائيلي ضد المدنيين والأبرياء العزل في قطاع غزة
