In a first-of-its-kind incident, the Sultanate of Oman announced on Friday the death of two people and injuries to others as a result of a drone crash in the Al-Awahi industrial area of Sohar Governorate. An Omani security source reported that two drones crashed in the governorate, one in the industrial area, resulting in the casualties, and the other in an open area without causing any injuries.

According to the Oman News Agency, the relevant authorities are continuing their investigation into the two incidents. Official sources praised the awareness and cooperation of citizens and residents in refraining from circulating images and rumors and in obtaining information only from official sources. They affirmed that all efforts are being made to protect the Sultanate of Oman and its people.

في حادثة هي الأولى من نوعها، أعلنت سلطنة عمان، الجمعة، مقتل شخصين وإصابة آخرين جراء سقوط طائرة مسيّرة في منطقة صناعية العوهي بولاية صحار. وأفاد مصدر أمني عماني بسقوط طائرتين مسيرتين في المحافظة، إحداهما في المنطقة الصناعية ما أدى إلى سقوط الضحايا، والثانية في منطقة مفتوحة دون تسجيل إصابات.

وبحسب وكالة الأنباء العمانية، تواصل الجهات المختصة التحقيق في الحادثتين، وأشادت المصادر الرسمية بوعي وتعاون المواطنين والمقيمين في الالتزام بعدم تداول الصور والشائعات، واستقاء المعلومات من المصادر الرسمية فقط. وأكدت أن كافة الجهود مسخرة لحماية سلطنة عمان ومن عليها.
