The Puntland Police Command in Sanaag region has issued a statement on the incident in the Ceelbuh area yesterday in which a traditional elder, Omar Abdillaahi, was killed after his vehicle was targeted by an airstrike.
The police said that an official investigation has begun, and it was confirmed that the elder was alone in the vehicle when three missiles hit it, causing the vehicle to burn completely, leaving only his body with only his bones remaining.
The command added that it is not yet known who is behind the attack and the exact reason for it, but investigations are underway to determine the real facts. So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the airstrike, which was the first of its kind in the Ceelbuh area.
