Local sources in Damascus reported that the Israeli airstrikes that targeted residential buildings in the Mezzeh neighborhood of Damascus last Tuesday evening were aimed at a Lebanese commander known as "Hajj Ziad."

The local network "Sawt al-Asima" indicated that "Hajj Ziad" was a liaison officer for the Lebanese Hezbollah, responsible for military operations outside of Lebanon.

The sources stated that "Hajj Ziad" was residing on the second floor of the building destroyed in the airstrikes, which resulted in his death.

The airstrikes also caused significant damage to the upper and lower floors of the building and resulted in civilian casualties.

According to the network, "Hajj Ziad" was staying in the apartment as a guest, having been rented by a Syrian man for relatives arriving from abroad. However, the airstrike targeted him just hours after his arrival.

Israeli Airstrike on Mezzeh…

On Tuesday evening, an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in the Mezzeh district of Damascus, near the Iranian embassy. Sources told Syria TV that the strike targeted a high-ranking official.

Sources told Syria TV that the targeted building in the Mezzeh neighborhood housed Iranian officers and their families, adding that at least 15 people were killed and at least 15 others were wounded in the attack.

The Syrian regime's news agency, SANA, reported that the airstrike killed seven civilians, including children and women, and wounded 11 others, according to initial reports.

Local sources in Damascus reported that a Syrian woman named Rana Touma and her child, Qusay Khashman, died from injuries sustained in the bombing.

Yemeni media sources also reported that Dr. Shawqi al-Hussein al-Awad, his wife, and their three daughters were killed in the Israeli airstrike on the Mezzeh neighborhood.

The Israeli raid also resulted in the death of the young doctor Rahaf Qamhiyeh, a resident physician specializing in kidney diseases at the Damascus Health Directorate, who came from the city of Homs, according to local media reports.

وأشارت شبكة “صوت العاصمة” المحلية إلى أن “الحاج زياد” هو ضابط ارتباط تابع لـ “حزب الله” اللبناني، ويتولى مهام عسكرية خارج لبنان.

وأفادت المصادر بأن “الحاج زياد” كان يقيم في الطابق الثاني من المبنى الذي دمرته الغارات، مما أدى إلى مقتله.

كما تسببت الغارات بأضرار كبيرة في الطوابق العليا والسفلى، وأسفرت عن وقوع خسائر في الأرواح بين المدنيين.

ووفق الشبكة، فإن “الحاج زياد” جاء إلى الشقة بصفة ضيف، إذ استأجرها شخص سوري على أنها ستكون لأقارب قادمين من الخارج، ولكن الغارة استهدفته بعد ساعات من وصوله إلى المنزل.

غارة إسرائيلية على المزة …

مساء يوم الثلاثاء الماضي، استهدفت غارة إسرائيلية مبنى سكنياً في منطقة المزة بالعاصمة دمشق، بالقرب من السفارة الإيرانية، في حين أكدت مصادر خاصة لـ “تلفزيون سوريا” أن الغارة استهدفت قيادياً كبيراً.

وقالت مصادر خاصة لـ “تلفزيون سوريا” إن المبنى المستهدف في حي المزة يضم ضباطاً إيرانيين مع عوائلهم، موضحة أن 15 شخصاً على الأقل قتلوا وأصيبوا على الأقل من جراء القصف.

من جانبها، قالت وكالة أنباء النظام السوري “سانا” إن الغارة أسفرت عن مقتل سبعة أشخاص مدنيين، بينهم أطفال ونساء، وإصابة 11 آخرين بجروح كحصيلة أولية.

وأفادت مصادر محلية في العاصمة دمشق بمقتل امرأة سورية تدعى، رنا تومة، وطفلها قصي خشمان متأثرين بإصابتيهما من جراء القصف.

كذلك أفادت مصادر إعلامية يمنية بأن الدكتور شوقي الحسين العود وزوجته وبناته الثلاث قُتلوا في الغارة الإسرائيلية على حي المزة.

كما أسفرت الغارة الإسرائيلية عن مقتل الطبيبة الشابة رهف قمحية، وهي طبيبة مقيمة باختصاص أمراض الكلى بمديرية صحة دمشق، وتنحدر من مدينة حمص، وفق ما ذكرت وسائل إعلام محلية.
