The Abu Dhabi government announced early Monday that one person was injured by falling debris following the interception of a ballistic missile.

The government's media office explained in a statement that the relevant authorities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi "dealt with an incident involving falling debris in the Al Shawamekh area, following the successful interception of a ballistic missile by air defenses."

The statement indicated that the interception resulted in "minor injuries to an Indian national," without providing further details.

Shortly before this, the UAE Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that its air defenses were engaging missile and drone attacks launched from Iran.

In total, since the start of the Iranian attacks on February 28, UAE air defenses have engaged 345 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,773 drones, as of Sunday morning, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defense.

Since February 28, the UAE and other Gulf states have been subjected to missile and drone attacks from Iran, resulting in deaths, injuries, and damage to civilian infrastructure, including airports, ports, and various buildings. These countries have condemned the attacks and repeatedly called for an end to them.

Tehran maintains that these attacks target US bases and interests in the region as retaliation for the Israeli-American aggression that killed hundreds of people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and security officials.

أعلنت حكومة أبو ظبي، فجر الاثنين، إصابة شخص إثر سقوط شظايا عقب اعتراض صاروخ باليستي.

وأوضح المكتب الإعلامي للحكومة، في بيان، أن الجهات المختصة في إمارة أبوظبي "تعاملت مع حادث سقوط شظايا في منطقة الشوامخ، عقب اعتراض ناجح للدفاعات الجوية لصاروخ باليستي".

وذكر البيان أن الاعتراض أسفر عن "إصابة بسيطة لشخص من الجنسية الهندية"، دون ذكر تفاصيل أكثر.

وقبل ذلك بوقت قصير، أعلنت وزارة الدفاع الإماراتية، في بيان، أن الدفاعات الجوية تتعامل مع اعتداءات صاروخية وطائرات مسيرة قادمة من إيران.

وإجمالا، تعاملت الدفاعات الجوية الإماراتية منذ بدء الاعتداءات الإيرانية في 28 فبراير/ شباط الماضي مع 345 صاروخا باليستيا و15 صاروخا جوالا (كروز) و1773 طائرة مسيرة، حتى صباح الأحد، بحسب بيان لوزارة الدفاع.

ومنذ 28 فبراير الماضي، تتعرض الإمارات ودول الخليج العربي إلى هجمات بصواريخ ومسيرات من إيران تسببت في سقوط قتلى وجرحى وألحقت أضرارا بأعيان مدنية بينها مطارات وموانئ ومبانٍ مختلفة، الأمر الذي تدينه تلك الدول وتطالب مرارا بوقف الاعتداءات.

وتقول طهران إن هذه الهجمات تستهدف قواعد ومصالح أمريكية في المنطقة، في إطار ردها على العدوان الإسرائيلي الأمريكي الذي أودى بحياة مئات الأشخاص، على رأسهم المرشد علي خامنئي ومسؤولين أمنيين.
