Kuwait announced on Monday the death of one person following an Iranian attack targeting a building at one of the country's power and water desalination plants.

In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy said that "a service building at one of the power and water desalination plants was subjected to an attack by the Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait on Sunday evening."

The ministry revealed that the attack "resulted in the death of an Indian worker and caused significant material damage to the building."

It indicated that technical and emergency teams immediately began their work according to the approved emergency plans to deal with the repercussions of the incident and maintain operational efficiency, without specifying the location of the targeted plant.

The ministry emphasized that "the safety and stability of the electricity and water systems is a top priority, and all technical teams are working around the clock with high efficiency in anticipation of any emergency."

This comes hours after the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that 10 members of the armed forces were injured after one of their camps was targeted by ballistic missiles and "hostile" drones.

According to the Ministry of Defense, "Since the start of the aggression on February 28, 2026, a total of 307 ballistic missiles, 2 cruise missiles, and 616 drones have been detected as hostile aerial threats."

Since February 28, Israel and the United States have been waging a military campaign against Iran, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Tehran has responded by launching missiles and drones toward Israel.

Iran has also targeted what it describes as American interests in Arab countries, causing deaths, injuries, and damage to civilian infrastructure, which has been condemned by the targeted countries.

أعلنت الكويت، الاثنين، مصرع شخص إثر هجوم إيراني استهدف مبنى بإحدى محطات الكهرباء وتقطير المياه بالدولة الخليجية.

وتحدثت وزارة الكهرباء والماء والطاقة المتجددة في الكويت، في بيان، عن "تعرّض مبنى خدمي في إحدى محطات القوى الكهربائية وتقطير المياه لهجوم من العدوان الإيراني الآثم على دولة الكويت، مساء الأحد".

وكشفت الوزارة أن الهجوم "أسفر عن وفاة أحد العاملين من الجنسية الهندية وتضرر المبنى بأضرار مادية جسيمة".

وأشارت إلى أن الفرق الفنية وفرق الطوارئ باشرت أعمالها بشكل فوري وفق خطط الطوارئ المعتمدة للتعامل مع تداعيات الحادث واستمرار كفاءة التشغيل، دون ذكر مكان المحطة المستهدفة.

وأكدت الوزارة أن "سلامة واستقرار المنظومة الكهربائية والمائية تمثل أولوية قصوى، وجميع الفرق الفنية تعمل على مدار الساعة بكفاءة عالية تحسبا لأي طارئ".

يأتي ذلك، عقب ساعات من إعلان وزارة الدفاع الكويتية، الأحد، إصابة 10 من منتسبي القوات المسلحة عقب استهداف أحد المعسكرات بصواريخ باليستية ومسيرات "معادية".

ووفق وزارة الدفاع، فإنه "منذ بدء العدوان الآثم بتاريخ 28 فبراير/ شباط 2026، بلغ إجمالي ما تم رصده من التهديدات الجوية المعادية 307 صواريخ باليستية، و2 من الصواريخ الجوالة، و616 طائرة مسيّرة".

ومنذ 28 فبراير الماضي، تشن إسرائيل والولايات المتحدة عدوانًا عسكريًا على إيران، أودى بحياة مئات الأشخاص، بينهم المرشد الأعلى علي خامنئي، فيما ترد طهران بإطلاق صواريخ ومسيرات باتجاه إسرائيل.

كما تستهدف إيران ما تصفه بمصالح أمريكية في دول عربية، ما تسبب بسقوط قتلى وجرحى وألحق أضرارا بأعيان مدنية، وهو ما أدانته الدول المستهدفة.
