The Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced early Monday morning that one person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a fire that broke out on a foreign vessel undergoing maintenance in Salman Industrial City, northeast of the country, caused by shrapnel from an intercepted missile.

In a statement, the ministry said, "A fire broke out on a foreign vessel undergoing maintenance in Salman Industrial City as a result of shrapnel from an intercepted missile, resulting in the death of an Asian worker and serious injuries to two others."

It added that "the fire has been brought under control and extinguished," without providing further details.

Since Saturday, several Arab countries, including Bahrain, have been targeted by Iranian drone and missile attacks in response to the ongoing US-Israeli offensive that began that morning.

Tehran maintains that it is not targeting specific countries, but rather US bases in the region. However, these attacks have caused damage to civilian infrastructure, including airports, ports, and various buildings.

Tel Aviv and Washington are launching this offensive despite Iran having made progress in indirect negotiations with the United States, as attested to by the Omani mediator and US officials.

This is the second time that Israel has turned its back on the Iranian-American negotiation track, after its first aggression in June 2025.

وقالت الوزارة، في بيان، إن "حريقا اندلع في سفينة أجنبية تحت الصيانة بمدينة سلمان الصناعية، جراء سقوط شظايا صاروخ تم اعتراضه وأسفر عن مقتل عامل آسيوي وإصابة اثنين آخرين بإصابات بليغة".

وأضافت أنه "تم السيطرة على الحريق وإخماده"، دون مزيد من التفاصيل.

ومنذ السبت، تتعرض دول عربية بينها البحرين لاستهداف إيراني بمسيرات وصواريخ في سياق رد طهران، على الهجوم الأمريكي-الإسرائيلي الذي يتواصل منذ صباح ذلك اليوم.

وتقول طهران إنها "لا تستهدف دولا بعينها"، بل القواعد الأمريكية بالمنطقة، غير أن هذه الهجمات ألحقت أضرارا بأعيان مدنية، بينها مطارات وموانئ ومبان مختلفة.

وتشن تل أبيب وواشنطن هذا العدوان رغم إحراز إيران تقدما في المفاوضات غير المباشرة مع الولايات المتحدة بشهادة الوسيط العماني ومسؤولين أمريكيين.

وهذه المرة الثانية التي تنقلب فيها إسرائيل على مسار التفاوض الإيراني الأمريكي، بعد عدوانها الأول في يونيو/ حزيران 2025.
