Pro-Palestinian demonstrations took place in several capitals on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. A number of Palestinian civilians were killed and wounded yesterday in separate Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas in the Gaza Strip. Local and medical sources in Gaza reported the death of a young Palestinian man in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Abasan al-Jadida, east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. Medical teams recovered the body of a Palestinian martyr and several wounded individuals from under the rubble after warplanes targeted the Abu Jalhoum family home in the al-Tuam area, northwest of Gaza City. Israeli warplanes also targeted a group of civilians near al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, seriously injuring two brothers. A Palestinian man succumbed to injuries sustained in an artillery shelling two days prior west of Beit Lahia. Additionally, a body was recovered from under the rubble of the Abu Auf building, which was destroyed by Israeli warplanes at dawn yesterday on al-Wahda Street in central Gaza City.
