He was covering the continuous Israeli airstrikes from Al Jazeera's Gaza office when he was surprised by an attack on the area where his family had sought shelter in southern Wadi Gaza, one of the areas to which the occupation forces had ordered residents to move. Al-Dahdouh's family had sought refuge in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the southern Gaza Strip after he realized he could not attend to them amidst the relentless bombardment and his tireless work covering the aggression.
