Martyr and others wounded in Israeli bombing of a displaced persons camp in central Gaza

A Palestinian citizen was martyred and others were wounded on Wednesday in a bombing by the Israeli occupation army on an area in the central Gaza Strip, according to the Civil Defense Authority and hospitals in the Strip.

Civil Defense spokesman in the Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Basal, confirmed "the martyrdom of one person and several injuries as a result of the bombing by occupation warplanes of agricultural land south of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip."

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that occupation warplanes launched an airstrike on the "Al-Sit Amira" camp south of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of citizen Abdul Rahman Qanbour (22 years old) and the injury of seven others.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported the arrival of Qanbour's body and seven wounded individuals following the airstrike.

Suhaila Khalil, 57, a displaced woman from the northern Gaza Strip now living in a tent west of Deir al-Balah, said, "I was in the tent when I heard people shouting warnings to evacuate Deir al-Balah: 'They're going to bomb the Sitt Amira camp!' I started calling for my children until there was a warning explosion, followed by a massive one."

She added, "The explosion happened several hundred meters from our tent, but smoke and shrapnel rained down on the displaced people, and a number of injuries were reported."

Injured
Earlier, the spokesman for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip announced that a number of people were injured when Israeli gunboats opened fire on tents belonging to displaced people on the beach in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis.

The al-Mawasi field hospital reported in a statement that "four people were injured as a result of the Israeli gunboats targeting the tents of displaced people. Three of them are children, one of whom is in critical condition, in addition to a man who was also injured."

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem stated, "The escalation of the occupation's aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, through the continued killings and tightening of the siege, is a clear confirmation of the occupation's decision to sabotage the ceasefire process and the efforts of the peace council."

The Gaza Ministry of Health announced in a report published last Sunday that 72,265 people have been killed and 171,959 injured since the start of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2013. These figures are considered reliable by the United Nations.

استشهد مواطن فلسطيني وأصيب آخرون بجروح، اليوم الأربعاء، في قصف شنه جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي على منطقة في وسط قطاع غزة، وفق ما أفادت هيئة الدفاع المدني ومستشفيات في القطاع.

وأكد الناطق باسم الدفاع المدني في قطاع غزة محمود بصل "سقوط شهيد وعدة إصابات بقصف طائرات الاحتلال الحربية أرضا زراعية جنوب دير البلح وسط قطاع غزة".

وأفادت وكالة الأنباء الفلسطينية (وفا) بأن طائرات الاحتلال شنت غارة على مخيم "الست أميرة" جنوب دير البلح وسط القطاع، مما أسفر عن استشهاد المواطن عبد الرحمن قنبور (22 عاما) وإصابة 7 آخرين.

وأفاد مستشفى شهداء الأقصى بوصول جثة قنبور وسبعة جرحى إثر الغارة.

وقالت سهيلة خليل (57 عاما) وهي نازحة من شمال القطاع وتقيم في خيمة غرب دير البلح "كنت في الخيمة ثم خرجت على صوت الناس تصرخ إنذارا بالإخلاء لدير البلح: سيقصفون مخيم الست أميرة، أخذت أنادي على أطفالي حتى وقع انفجار تحذيري ثم تلاه انفجار ضخم".

وأضافت "الانفجار وقع على بعد عدة مئات من الأمتار من خيمتنا، لكن الدخان والشظايا تناثرت على النازحين، وتم نقل عدد من الإصابات".


مصابون
وفي وقت سابق، أعلن الناطق باسم الدفاع المدني في قطاع غزة نقل عدد من الجرحى الذين أصيبوا جرّاء إطلاق الزوارق الحربية الإسرائيلية النار باتجاه خيام نازحين على شاطئ منطقة المواصي غرب خان يونس.

وأفاد مستشفى المواصي الميداني في بيان له بـ"نقل 4 إصابات جراء استهداف من زوارق الاحتلال لخيام النازحين، 3 منهم أطفال، وأحدهم جروحه خطرة، إضافة إلى إصابة رجل".

وقال الناطق باسم حركة المقاومة الإسلامية (حماس) حازم قاسم "تصعيد الاحتلال ضد الشعب الفلسطيني في قطاع غزة من خلال استمرار عمليات القتل وتشديد الحصار تأكيد واضح لقرار الاحتلال بتخريب مسار وقف إطلاق النار وجهود مجلس السلام".

وأعلنت وزارة الصحة بقطاع غزة، في حصيلة نشرتها الأحد الماضي، استشهاد 72 ألفا و265 شخصا وإصابة 171 ألفا و959 منذ اندلاع الحرب على غزة في السابع من أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2023، وهي أرقام تَعُدها الأمم المتحدة موثوقة.
