Kuwait City (AFP) – Kuwait announced on Monday that an Iranian strike targeted a power and water desalination plant, killing an Indian worker and causing material damage to a building at the site.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity stated, “A service building at one of the power and water desalination plants was attacked by the Iranian aggression against the State of Kuwait, resulting in the death of an Indian worker,” and damage to the building.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense later reported that “the armed forces detected and engaged 13 hostile drones within Kuwaiti airspace during the past 24 hours,” resulting in the targeting of a service building at a power and water desalination plant, which led to the death of a worker and significant material damage to the building.

وقالت وزارة الكهرباء الكويتية، «تعرض مبنى خدمي في إحدى محطات القوى الكهربائية وتقطير المياه لهجوم من العدوان الإيراني الآثم على دولة الكويت ما أسفر عن وفاة أحد العاملين من الجنسية الهندية»، وعن «تضرر» المبنى.
وأفادت وزارة الدفاع الكويتية لاحقاً بأن «القوات المسلحة رصدت وتعاملت خلال الـ24 ساعة الماضية مع 13 طائرة مسيّرة معادية داخل المجال الجوي الكويتي»، ونتج من ذلك استهداف مبنى خدمي في محطة للكهرباء وتقطير المياه، ما أسفر عن وفاة عامل وأضرار مادية جسيمة في المبنى.
