Gaza: A Palestinian paramedic was killed and three others were wounded on Thursday while attempting to treat civilians in Beit Hanoun, northern Gaza Strip.

A medical source reported that "paramedic Hussein Matar was killed, and three others were wounded in an Israeli shelling in the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip."

The source added that the paramedics were evacuating people injured by Israeli artillery fire in the town.

The source described the condition of the other two paramedics as "serious."

Since the start of its war on Gaza on October 7, 2013, Israeli forces have systematically and continuously targeted medical facilities and hospitals throughout the Gaza Strip, causing widespread destruction of the healthcare system.

وأفاد مصدر طبي بأن “المسعف حسين مطر استشهد، وأصيب 3 آخرين بقصف إسرائيلي في بلدة بيت حانون شمالي القطاع”.
وأضاف المصدر أن المسعفين كانوا في مهمة إجلاء لمصابين تعرضوا لقصف بقذائف مدفعية إسرائيلية في البلدة.
ووصف المصدر حالة المسعفين الآخرين بأنها “خطيرة”.


ومنذ بدء حربها على غزة في 7 أكتوبر/ تشرين الأول 2023، تستهدف القوات الإسرائيلية بهجمات ممنهجة ومتواصلة المرافق الطبية والمستشفيات في مختلف مناطق القطاع، ما تسبب في تدمير المنظومة الصحية.
