US Military Announces Elimination of Senior ISIS Leader and His Two Sons in Airstrike in Syria

Damascus, July 26 (BNA) – The US Central Command announced today a successful airstrike that killed a senior leader of the ISIS terrorist organization and his two sons in the al-Bab area of Aleppo Governorate, northern Syria. The official statement identified the deceased as Diaa Zoba’a Musleh al-Hardani and his sons, Abdullah and Abdul Rahman, who posed a threat to US interests, coalition forces, and the Syrian government.

The Central Command, headquartered in Florida, confirmed in its statement that the operation resulted in no civilian casualties, despite the presence of three women and three children at the strike site. For his part, General Michael Eric Corella, Commander of US Central Command, affirmed his country's commitment to combating and completely eliminating ISIS.

This operation comes at a time of conflicting reports regarding the extent of US coordination with the Syrian government, especially since the al-Bab area, located 40 kilometers northeast of Aleppo and 30 kilometers from the Turkish border, is under the control of Syrian government forces.

It is worth noting that the United States maintains approximately 2,000 troops in Syria as part of the international coalition's efforts to combat terrorism, and has targeted numerous leaders of the terrorist organization in similar operations in recent years.

دمشق في 26 يوليو / بنا / أعلنت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية اليوم عن تنفيذ غارة جوية ناجحة أسفرت عن مقتل قيادي بارز في تنظيم داعش الإرهابي ونجليه في منطقة الباب بمحافظة حلب شمال سوريا. وجاء في البيان الرسمي أن القتلى هم ضياء زوبع مصلح الحرداني ونجلاه عبد الله وعبد الرحمن، الذين كانوا يشكلون تهديداً للمصالح الأمريكية وقوات التحالف وكذلك للحكومة السورية.

وأكدت القيادة المركزية -ومقرها فلوريدا- في بيانها أن العملية لم تخلف أي إصابات بين المدنيين، رغم وجود ثلاث نساء وثلاثة أطفال في موقع الغارة. من جهته، أكد الجنرال مايكل إريك كوريلا قائد القيادة المركزية الأمريكية التزام بلاده بمكافحة تنظيم داعش والقضاء عليه تماماً.

وتأتي هذه العملية في وقت تتضارب فيه الأنباء حول مدى التنسيق الأمريكي مع الحكومة السورية، خاصة أن منطقة الباب التي تبعد 40 كيلومتراً شمال شرق حلب و30 كيلومتراً عن الحدود التركية تخضع لسيطرة القوات الحكومية السورية.

يذكر أن الولايات المتحدة تحتفظ بنحو ألفي جندي في سوريا ضمن جهود التحالف الدولي لمكافحة الإرهاب، حيث استهدفت في السنوات الأخيرة العديد من قادة التنظيم الإرهابي في عمليات مماثلة.
