In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

And do not think that those who were killed in the cause of God are dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision, rejoicing in what God has bestowed upon them of His bounty.

The sacrifices are immense, and the giving is sublime. We only increase in contentment with God's decree, patience in the face of His trials, and determination to continue the journey. We have in the tragedy of our inspiration, the father of martyrs, Abu Abdullah al-Hussein, the best example.

With hearts filled with sorrow, the Nabatieh Ambulance Service mourns the loss of paramedic Mahdi Abu Zeid, who was martyred while performing his noble humanitarian duty on a rescue mission alongside his colleagues in the town of Mayfadoun. He joins his fellow martyrs, Ali Nizar Jaber and Jawad Muhammad Suleiman. As we lose one of our finest young men in this heinous aggression, we affirm that targeting those working in humanitarian and relief efforts is a blatant attack on human and moral values, and a violation of all norms and conventions.

We ask God Almighty to accept him into the highest ranks of Paradise, to grant his family and comrades patience and solace, and to make his pure blood a guiding light for us to continue on the noble path of humanitarian giving, a path of sacrifice consecrated by the blood of martyrdom.

To God we belong, and to Him we shall return.

إننا إذ نفقد خيرة شبابنا في هذا العدوان الآثم، نؤكد أن استهداف العاملين في المهام الإنسانية والإغاثية هو اعتداء صارخ على القيم الإنسانية والأخلاقية، وانتهاكٌ لكل الأعراف والمواثيق.
نسأل الله تعالى أن يتقبّله في أعلى عليين، وأن يلهم أهله ورفاق دربه الصبر والسلوان، وأن يجعل دماءه الطاهرة نورًا نهتدي به لنستمر في درب العطاء الإنساني الحسيني الشريف المعمّد بدم الشهادة.
