A retired lieutenant colonel in the Lebanese Army and his entire family—his wife and three daughters—were killed when the Israeli army targeted their home in the Al-Housh area near Tyre in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese media reported that the Israeli bombing of the Al-Housh area yesterday struck the family of Ahmed Gharib, killing him, his wife Hanan Sabra, and their young daughters Rasha, Maya, and Nour.

The Lebanese University mourned the loss of Rasha and Maya. The university's administration and the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry stated: "We mourn the martyr Rasha Ahmed Gharib (fourth-year dental student), who was killed as a result of the Israeli aggression against the South on September 23, 2024."

The university's administration and the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture also mourned "the martyr, architect Maya Ahmed Gharib (a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts), who was killed along with her family."

كما نعت رئاسة الجامعة وعمادة كلية الفنون الجميلة والعمارة "الشهيدة المهندسة المعمارية مايا أحمد غريب (خريجة كلية الفنون) التي استشهدت مع عائلتها".
