Clashes in Raqqa between Tribesmen and SDF Forces After Sheikh's Arrest

For several hours, armed clashes have been taking place in Raqqa province, northern Syria, between members of Arab tribes and the SDF militias, following a raid on the home of Sheikh Abu Amir al-Marandi in the town of Raqqa al-Samra and his subsequent arrest.

According to local sources, SDF forces raided Sheikh al-Marandi's home in the town, arrested him, and transferred him to al-Karama prison, sparking widespread anger among the tribesmen in the area.

The sources explained that the immediate cause of the arrest stems from a previous dispute between the sheikh and an SDF intelligence officer, who used his influence to issue the arrest warrant.

The clashes between the two sides have been escalating since they began, amid reports of civilian casualties, though precise information regarding their number or condition is not yet available.

تشهد محافظة الرقة شمالي سوريا، منذ عدة ساعات، اشتباكات مسلحة بين أبناء العشائر العربية وميليشيات قوات "قسد"، وذلك على خلفية مداهمة منزل الشيخ أبو أمير المرندي في بلدة الرقة السمراء واعتقاله.
ووفقاً لمصادر محلية، فإن قوات "قسد" داهمت منزل الشيخ المرندي في البلدة، واعتقلته ونقلته إلى سجن الكرامة، مما أثار غضباً عارماً بين أبناء العشائر في المنطقة.
وأوضحت المصادر أن الخلفية المباشرة للاعتقال تعود إلى خلاف سابق بين الشيخ وأحد عناصر الاستخبارات التابعة لـ"قسد"، والذي استخدم نفوذه لإصدار أمر الاعتقال.
وتتصاعد الاشتباكات بين الجانبين منذ بدايتها، وسط أنباء عن سقوط إصابات في صفوف المدنيين، دون توفر معلومات دقيقة حتى الآن عن عددها أو حالتها.
