A year and a half after my family was martyred, today we are trying to recover their bodies from under the rubble. Imagine, a year and a half and the bodies of the martyrs are still under the rubble. They were killed and exterminated while they were safe, hungry, and afraid. They were wiped out in the blink of an eye—they killed the entire family. Back then, we recovered some bodies, because before, recovering the martyrs was a very frightening task. This area was under attack, and it was extremely difficult to recover the martyrs except for those who were charred and visible. Those still under the rubble couldn't be retrieved.
There were 200 people in this house. 150 were martyred, and the rest were injured. We recovered some of them, and today we recovered 67 martyrs. I hope we can recover the rest and give them a proper burial.
Blessed are the martyrs, they are the ones who survived. "Those who died survived, and those who survived died." What was the crime of my family, civilians, most of whom were women and children, who loved life and dreamed of safety and peace? But the occupation army was stronger than their dream of life and killed their dreams. I tell the world not to stand idly by in the face of the genocide we experienced, hoping it will never happen again. I hope we can recover the remaining bodies of the martyrs, including my brother Muhammad, who is still alive. So far, no bodies have been recovered because they might be on the lower floors.
