This is Wael al-Dahdouh, Al Jazeera's correspondent. I swear to God, I was watching him live on air, covering an airstrike in Gaza, when suddenly the broadcast cut out. But his voice was clearly audible from afar, talking on the phone, saying "Who's there?" Then the anchor switched to a correspondent in southern Lebanon, thinking there was a technical problem with the Gaza broadcast.

Later came the news of the death of his daughter, son, wife, and the rest of his family in a bombing of his home in Gaza.

All day he covered the event, his camera following the victims' families at al-Shifa Hospital to convey their suffering to viewers as they searched for their loved ones and clutched the remains of their children. Today, the camera follows him as he searches for his family and clutches the remains of his children.

A true tragedy in every sense of the word. There is no power nor strength except with God.

هذا وائل الدحدوح مراسل الجزيرة، اقسم بالله كنت اشاهده لحظتها مباشرة على الهواء يغطي غارة من غزة وفجأة انقطع عن المذيعة ولكن صوته كان واضح من بعيد يتحدث في الهاتف يقول ( مين مين ) ثم انتقلت المذيعة لمراسل جنوب لبنان معتقدة ان هناك خلل فني في بث غزة .
بعدها جاء خبر وفاة ابنته و ابنه و زوجته و بقية عائلته في قصف على منزله في غزة .
طيلة النهار و هو يغطي الحدث و تلاحق كامرته ذوي الضحايا في مشفى الشفاء لايصال معاناتهم الى المشاهدين وهم يبحثون عن ذويهم الضحايا و يحضنون اشلاء ابنائهم و اليوم الكاميرا تلاحقه وهو يبحث عن ذويه ويحتضن اشلاء ابنائه .
مأساة حقيقية بمعنى الكلمة ..
لا حول و لا قوة الا بالله ..
